Sketch 242

Hello friends. I was so excited to order this set with my Gift Certificate for my MFT Summer School win when I returned from vacation in Kauai. Anything I can do to keep my Aloha going is good for my soul. Kauai is my second home and spending a week there with my husband and daughter was amazing.

So I inked this set right up and am squeezing my take on this week's MFT Weekly Sketch in before the cut off time.

Here's the sketch.

I tried some things I have not tried before with this card. I masked my palm trees and tried to create a sunny background behind them. My blending is a bit spotty but I think I know what to do next time. That's what's so fun about creating artwork, we are all learning as we go. I love using the Queen and Co. Goosebumps for coconuts in my palm trees. Personally I love my cards to have a little sparkle.

Supplies: My Favorite Things Stamps (Polynesian Paradise) (Penguins in Paradise) (Wave Background) Dies: Zig Zag Stitched Oval
Adhesive: Therm-O-Web Sticky Strip Runner3D Foam Squares Combo pack.

So long summer, you were Epic!

Monday, August 24, 2015

School starts tomorrow and it's a little bittersweet. My daughter starts 3rd grade and my son has moved out and is onto his first day of college on the 31st. I can't tell you how many emotions I have about Scott leaving. Honestly it just seemed to happen so fast.

This summer was filled with so many fun adventures. Lily started summer off with soccer camp, then Girl Scout Camp and Vacation Bible school. In between were lots of trips to our local pool, In & Out lunches, an American Girl Birthday lunch and shopping spree at the Grove, beach days with friends, High Tea with Nana and an amazing vacation in Kauai.

We are so thankful for all of these summer memories that will not be forgotten. We hope your summer was just as Epic as ours was!

Have a creative day!

Some pop up card shares

Friday, August 21, 2015

Hello friends. Today I wanted to share some of my cards that I created with the Engraved Endearments Pop-Up card kit.

I love the variety of embellishments that come in this kit and how easy they are to put together.

A beautiful card almost seems effortless. This is really something I feel so proud to give someone.

I love that Anna added foil embellishments and butterflies too!

And that there were masculine options too! My Dad would love this card.

I can hardly wait for the Christmas version that Anna has coming. Stay up an all of Anna's new releases and news by visiting her Facebook page and Blog.

Have a creative day!

Sunday Shares

It's good to be home but it was so hard to leave Kauai. There is no place more beautiful. Our family had an amazing time there with lots of firsts for Lily.
Although I must admit that I missed my crafting table and was able to create a card for this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge.

Here's a look at this week's sketch.

Here's what I created.

I did not get a chance to link up my card for MFTWSC240 before I left on vacation. I figured since we were headed for Kauai this was perfect!

Have a great day!
